The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS), with a strong emphasis on Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.

This role involves automating deployment processes, ensuring system observability, and collaborating with development teams to deliver robust and efficient solutions.
This is a contractor position with flexible terms.

Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
○ Design, develop, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS using Terraform.
○ Manage and provision AWS resources, including VPCs, EC2 instances, S3, RDS, IAM, EKS etc., through Terraform.
○ Ensure infrastructure consistency, repeatability, and version control using Git.

Container Orchestration & Management:
○ Deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications on AWS EKS.
○ Configure and optimize Kubernetes clusters, including node groups, networking, and security.
○ Implement and manage Helm charts for application deployments on EKS.

CI/CD Automation:
○ Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines.
○ Automate deployment processes for applications and infrastructure changes.
○ Integrate security scanning and quality checks within the CI/CD pipeline.

Monitoring & Observability:
○ Implement and manage monitoring and logging solutions using tools such as Amazon CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana.
○ Establish alerts and incident response procedures for production systems.
○ Troubleshoot and resolve issues across distributed, cloud-based systems.

Collaboration & Best Practices:
○ Collaborate with development teams to optimize application architecture for cloud environments.
○ Advocate for and implement DevOps best practices, including automation, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
○ Ensure compliance with security and governance standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
● Strong Hands-on Experience: Extensive experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, IAM, etc.) and specifically AWS EKS.
● Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency in Terraform for managing cloud infrastructure.
● Kubernetes Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes concepts, deployments, and management.
● CI/CD Tools: Experience with CI/CD platforms (e.g. GitHub Actions).
● Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Node.js.
● Linux Fundamentals: Strong understanding of Linux operating systems and command-line tools.
● Version Control: Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.
● Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
● Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications:
● Relevant AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional).
● Experience with other containerization technologies like Docker.
● Knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks.

Additional Information
● Education: No formal degree required. Relevant experience and demonstrated skills are valued.
● Contract Basis: This is a contract position. Hours and compensation will be discussed based on availability and experience.
